Apply for a Scholarship!


IGLYO is offering a limited number of scholarships to support the participation of stakeholders aged 18-30 years old in the Proud Pupils Conference. If you are interested in applying for a scholarship, read the full call below and the information about the conference, and apply through the form provided below by Monday 21 April at 23:59 CEST. 


Important preliminary notes

  1. If you apply for a scholarship, please wait until the results of your application in late April before registering for the conference and booking your stay in Barcelona as we will not be able to reimburse your registration fee and accommodation costs if you are granted a scholarship and have already registered and booked your stay.
  2. Available scholarships are very limited so please only apply for one if you or your organisation really does not have the means to cover your participation in the conference and stay in Barcelona.


Eligibility criteria for the scholarship


You are eligible to apply if:

  • You are between 18 and 30 years old.
  • You are based in a Council of Europe Member State (see full list here​), or Russia, Belarus or Kosovo.
  • The organisation or entity which you are representing cannot cover your ticket, travel and accommodation. 
  • You are fluent in English or Spanish (the two working languages of the conference).
  • You are an LGBTQI activist, a civil society representative, a researcher, an education practitioner; or you are a selected presenter for the conference (prospective presenters who applied to the Open Call for Presentations before 23 March 2025 will be notified of the selection results by Friday 11 April 2025).

​IGLYO particularly welcomes applications from underrepresented groups and communities such as young women, trans youth (including non-binary), intersex youth, young people from Black communities, other communities of colour and ethnic minorities, refugees/migrants, sex workers, disabled youth (including neurodivergent youth), young people living with HIV, and fat young people.


What we will cover


IGLYO will:

  • Waive your conference ticket
  • Reimburse your travel costs up to €300 for a round trip to Barcelona
  • Cover your accommodation costs from 25 to 28 June 2025 in a twin room with another scholarship holder
  • Provide dinner on 25 June, breakfast on 28 June and all meals on 26 and 27 June 2025


Selection process


Scholarship applications will be evaluated by an Advisory Committee coordinated by IGLYO. All applications will be reviewed by at least 3 members of the Advisory Committee.


In selecting scholarship holders, we will prioritise participants who can bring a strong contribution to the Proud Pupils Conference. Therefore, we encourage you to read carefully the information on the Conference and describe how you plan to contribute to the objectives and key streams of the conference.


Furthermore, we will consider geographical balance and the representation of intersectional minorities.


Selection results will be announced by Monday 28 April. If you are not selected for a scholarship, you will still be able to purchase an early-bird ticket.
