- share fears and hopes;
- understand IGLYO's code of conduct;

During this workshop, you will learn the basics of the architecture of the European Union: its institutions, power, competencies and internal dynamics. We will also look at the legislative process inside the EU.

In this workshop, we will explore:
- why does it make sense for LGBTQI organisations to engage with the EU?
- what has the EU done for LGBTQI rights until now?
- what is within the powers of each EU institution to do? What are the limits of the power of the EU to act in this policy area?
- how can the accession procedure of the EU bring change within candidate countries?

In this workshop, you will learn:
- how to build relations with different institutions, and what are easy entry points for human rights NGOs.
- What to ask to different institutional actors at different points in time, and how to build different strategies for different institutions.
- What it means to have a reactive lobbying strategy (e.g. lobbying on a single legislative file, proposing amendments) and a proactive lobbying strategy (setting the agenda). What are the pros and cons of both strategies and what do they look like in practice.

In this session, we will focus on the delivery of your messages. We will present some public speaking techniques and let you rehearse and role-play before the meetings.

This meeting is especially strategic as the European Commission is in the process of drafting the next LGBTIQ Equality Strategy. In this context, it will be crucial for you as participants to share information about your national context and how you think a potential new Strategy could be useful for your context.

In this session, we will reflect on the learnings of the week and evaluate the Study Visit.

On the last day, we will have a networking session with the participants of the Erasmus+ youth mobility project ''Crossroads- intersectional encounter of youth workers working with marginalized youth''.
The leading organization is the European Roma Rights Centre based in Brussels, Belgium; partner organizations are the Greek Forum of Refugees based in Athens, Greece, and the Cassero LGBTI+ Center based in Bologna, Italy. The project is funded by JINT-the, the Belgium National Erasmus Agency.
This project gathers activists and youth workers who work with marginalized young people on the intersection of LGBTQI rights, Roma Rights, and anti-racist issues more broadly, as well as supporting young people on the move/ refugees and asylum seekers, not just with these 3 organizations, as the call was open also from those not affiliated with partner org who wanted to learn more about intersectionality between these issues, and network.
Participants are LGBTQI youth workers who face multiple marginalisation as Roma people, migrants, refugees and asylum-seekers. They have also been visiting Brussels to meet with EU policy and decision makers and bring their voices to the table. The evening will involve some ice-breaking and networking activities and food will be offered.
