FuckUpNight is an open mic event specifically designed for the participants of Activism Academy. It aims to create a dedicated space for storytelling, allowing individuals to freely share their experiences and reflections on their personal failures and challenges within the realm of activism.
Unlike traditional events that often emphasize success stories and best practices, the FuckUpNight takes a refreshingly informal and lighthearted approach. Inspired by open mic and stand-up comedy formats, this event encourages participants to shed their inhibitions and engage in open, honest, and humorous discussions about their failures.
In the world of activism, where expectations and the pursuit of success often dominate conversations, the FuckUpNight offers a much-needed respite. By embracing the importance of failure, this event acknowledges that setbacks and mistakes are an integral part of the journey towards achieving positive change. It creates a safe and non-judgmental space where individuals can share their vulnerabilities, learn from one another's experiences, and challenge the stigma surrounding failure.
The FuckUpNight serves as a powerful tool to prevent burnout within the sector. By openly discussing failures, participants can gain valuable insights, foster resilience, and develop a supportive network that encourages self-reflection and growth. This event promotes a culture of learning from mistakes and encourages individuals to celebrate the lessons gleaned from their own missteps.
Please feel free to contact Uluk (uluk@ecom.ngo), ECOM Health Officer, to sign up to the event or if you have any additional questions in this regard.
