This session will explore the transformative role of inclusive education in addressing bullying, preventing violence, and fostering safe learning environments for all students. With a focus on inclusive curricula—including comprehensive sexuality education and approaches to counter hate speech—panellists will discuss how education systems can actively contribute to a culture of equality and respect. Speakers will examine effective national and regional policies, teacher training strategies, and multi-stakeholder approaches to embedding non-discrimination and diversity in educational content and pedagogy.

PARALLEL ROUNDTABLE DISCUSSION B: IGLYO’s Inclusive Education Mentorship Programme
📍 Location: Vallespir (2nd Floor)
Through the LGBTQI Inclusive Education Mentorship Programme, we aim to support our selected member organisations in implementing advocacy projects that target their national, regional or local context. Member organisations are in charge of designing and implementing their action plan and request the support they need from IGLYO. The objective is to drive real, positive change in education systems and schools, through strategic policy and research actions. This meeting will allow us to take stock of the current implementation of this programme, and share best practices.

Focusing on the often-overlooked experiences of trans and intersex learners, this session will highlight evidence-based practices and policies that ensure educational settings are inclusive, affirming, and free from harm. 3️⃣ [WORKSHOP] Textile Art: How to Build Queer Community by Creating Art Together

This workshop will give a brief history of textile protest art and the speaker’s experience with grassroot organising in Poland through the medium of art. The main activity will consist of making a collective protest art piece which can later be recreated by participants in their own capacity.

The Council of Europe SOGIESC Unit and IGLYO just started a collaboration in order to design a tool on Inclusive Education targeted at policy makers. Join this workshop to hear about the progress of this work and share your best practices! Your feedback is important in order to build a tool as useful and comprehensive as possible.

5️⃣ [WORKSHOP] Queering Consent in Education: Fostering LGBTQIA+ Inclusive, Care-Centered Learning Spaces

This workshop will explore queer-informed consent practices beyond the yes/no binary. Using tools like the Consent-Iceberg, you will reflect on power dynamics, embodiment, and relational care. Educators, activists, and advocates will gain practical tools to support LGBTQIA+ youth and create safer, more inclusive learning and community spaces.
