About the AMC Brussels 2022
When was the last time you had an opportunity to travel, meet new people, share experiences face to face, participate in insightful in-person workshops, and shape the future of the LGBTQI Youth movement together with more than 70 LGBTQI young activists from across the Council of Europe Region? Here's a chance to do exactly that!
After 2 years of Zoom meetings and screen tiredness, the largest LGBTQI Youth gathering in Europe is back! We will indeed once again gather with representatives of all IGLYO Member Organisations in Brussels, Belgium, on 13-17 October 2022 for a long-awaited and not-to-miss in-person IGLYO Annual Members' Conference.
We will provide more information soon about the exact location, programme and voting documents, but you can already find more information below and ask your organisation's delegate to register by Monday 26 September 2022 at 23:59 CEST (extended deadline)!
Important: We kindly ask you to carefully read ALL the information below before your organisation's delegate registers to understand who from your organisation can and should attend the AMC, how to pay and register, how can IGLYO refund your travel, etc.
What is the IGLYO Annual Members Conference and why should I attend?
The IGLYO Annual Members Conference (AMC) is an important moment for you and other Member Organisations of IGLYO to network, take part in workshops, learn about IGLYO's current structure and activities, and cast your vote on statutory issues. In other words, it is your chance as a Member to have your say and contribute to setting the direction of IGLYO for the future. It is also an amazing opportunity for us to meet all together in person and have fun after 2 years of online events!
Do I need to be part of a Member Organisation to participate?
Only representatives of IGLYO Member Organisations (see full list here) can register for IGLYO's Annual Members' Conferences. If you are not representing an IGLYO Member Organisation, your organisation will have to become an IGLYO Member before you can register for the AMC. You can find more information about our membership and how to become a member on this page.
Who from my organisation should attend?
We kindly ask each Member Organisation to have one official representative to participate in the AMC. To decide which person from your organisation should participate, we warmly encourage you to go over our Attendance Priority Checklist. Everyone should indeed have the opportunity to attend IGLYO's AMCs, just like all identities should equally be represented in the discussions. As IGLYO is an LGBTQI youth development organisation, we also encourage you to send a representative who is between 18-30 years old.
What if no one from my organisation can attend?
If no one from your organisation can join the AMC, please inform us and consider giving a proxy vote to another organisation that will be present. The proxy vote form can be found here.
What's on the AMC Agenda and how can I contribute?
The final AMC Agenda is off the press, and it includes a variety of sessions designed to make your experience at the AMC a memorable one!
Day 1 will include an inspiring visit to the European Parliament, as well as focused work on our new Statutes and other IGLYO documents. On Day 2, you will attend a variety of member-led community workshops, and engage in networking activities to know each other and the Board candidates a little better. And finally, Day 3 is reserved for the voting process and an evaluation of your experience. And it wouldn't be an AMC without an exciting social programme in the evenings!
How to register and pay?
Please follow these steps to complete your registration:
Before registering, please make sure that your organisation has agreed for you to be their only representative, and that you ran through our Attendance Priority Checklist to decide which representative should attend. Please also note that the AMC is only open to IGLYO Member Organisations, and that only one representative per Member Organisation can attend.
How much does it cost and what does IGLYO cover?
The fee to participate in the AMC is 50€ per participant and IGLYO will cover all expenses related to your participation (travel, accommodation, food).
IGLYO will be booking and providing accommodation for everyone who registers for and attends the event. However, you are expected to book and pay for your delegate's travel to the event and we will reimburse your travel costs up to 300€ after the conference as long as you comply with our reimbursement policy requirements. Please carefully read our full travel reimbursement policy here.
If you are currently facing difficulties due to the financial conditions in your country, please get in touch with our Admin Officer Maruschka at firstname.lastname@example.org.
How does IGLYO reimburse my travel?
Please carefully read our full travel reimbursement policy here.
Can I be refunded or transfer my ticket if I cannot attend anymore?
The conference fee is fully refundable up until 28 September 2022 (2 weeks prior to the event), after which it is no longer refundable. Your conference fee can be transferred to another person who will attend from the same Member Organisation up until 10 October. To ask for a refund, or to transfer your conference fee to a different attendee, please email our Admin Officer Maruschka at email@example.com.
